- You'll find that many of them are ex-dealers or dealers. C= made
- the mistake years ago and killed the mass marketing of their
- products because the dealers complained. Look where C= ended up.
-
-
- : That's why I said "across the US", Chris. And to be quite frank,
- : apparently businesses don't really think that Chicago, the third
- : largest metropolitan area in the US, can't support more than two Amiga
- : dealers for a population of 8 million.
-
- The problem is marketing! Which there is a serious lack of in US.
- If AT would stop worring about Microsoft, they'd find that they
- could make a lot of money over here.
-
-
- : No. Most businesses, once busted, try to actually follow the law.
- : Wal-Mart thinks they're above the law or a law unto themselves.
-
- Like a certain software company.
-
-
- : I drink RC, actually.
-
- It's sold in there. I personally don't care for RC.
-
-
- : And Dr. Pepper is awful.
-
- The current Dr. Pepper is ok but it's not nearly as good as it used
- to be before the mid-80s. I think they slipped in a formula change
- on us. They didn't want to say anything because of what happened
- with Coke. I wish I could get Mr. Pibb locally because it tastes
- more like what Dr. Pepper used to.
-
-
- : A brand that isn't sold in Wal-Mart, of which there are many. How
- : about a Gateway?
-
- No, their not.
-
-
- : Actually, my VCRs are Sears house brands. See, Chris, it's easy to
- : boycott if you try.
-
- But their probably made by someone that makes VCRs that are sold in
- Wal-Mart.
-
-
- : And they've successfully driven small businessmen out of business in
- : those markets. I'm just telling people who may not know about Wal-Mart's
- : attitude toward their own workers and toward the government.
-
- Most small business people cringe when they hear mass marketer stores
- and malls are comming to town.
-
-
- : Chris, it's spelled "niche". I corrected it above.
-
- Ok, Mr. Webster. :)
-
-
- : So, tell me, Chris, why are you fighting in FAVOR of Wal-Mart? What
- : are your reasons?
-
- No, I don't work at Wal-Mart. I just mentioned them because they are a
- mass marketer that is in many cities in the southern US. It could just
- as well be Sears, or some other mass market or better yet, all of them.
